Apparently, Willie the Whale is a real thing. I have to admit, it did sound familiar, however, it made me think of Louis Prima, not a Disney whale that sings opera. (The song that came to mind when naming this guy: Sing, Sing, Sing. Have a listen if you want your legs to get happy.)

When deciding which animals to draw origami style, I simply chose animals that speak to me, animals I've always liked. The whale is definitely no exception. They're super smart, kind and they remind me of that one Star Trek movie, which, in turn, makes me think of my dad.
